Is this actually happening? This is one disaster the media always ignore because we are not a 'big' club.

I dont remember it getting done before.

Rip to them...

"The dead and injured were taken from the stand, with those who had perished lain along the touchline and covered in coats. A little under half an hour after leaving the pitch, the game was restarted, with a new sawdust lined touchline separating the players from the bodies. At the end of the first-half, the players immediately changed ends and started the second half. Stanley Matthews was on the Stoke team, and later said he was sickened that the game was allowed to continue"

Disgusting that the game continued...

You have to understand the times BTID.

World War II only ended the year before and I don't doubt many on the pitch and in the crowd had seen a lot worse for the last several years.

Would never be allowed to happen now though of course.

My father was in the crowd that day and was in the spot were the tragedy happened but he decided to move away because he was being crushed against the barriers.

RIP to those who died.

Is that's what happening because I have heard the club won't be doing anything today, they hold something for it at the end of the season for some reason instead of doing something on the day.

Not looked to see if is official but fans are tweeting that there will be 1 minutes applause for the 33 on 33 minutes into the game.

Quite like this idea myself.

As has been said, it's the forgotten tragedy. Whether that's because we're a "small club" or because it was so long ago, I do not know. It's sad either way.

RIP 33 - Never forgotten by your fellow Wanderers!
