What does he do ?

It has ben reported that P. Gartside earns around 500.000 to 600.000 K a year from BWFC.

I hope i'm wrong , but what does he actually do to earn such a high wage ?

FFS, the way our captain was treated, when asked "Why didn't you pick up the phone, or tell SKD he was no longer needed at the club, his answer was I was in a meeting all day.

Is this a guy that is taking BWFC for all its worth, or is he worth his high wage?

Its undoubtedly a lot of money, but most chairman earn more than their employees not less, some players will be earning similar amounts and probably the manager as well. Being chairman of what is still a high profile football club carries with it certain financial expectations as well as responsibility. Whether he is the man for the job is another matter.

Gartside is the Fat Controller and is rewarded as such!

He's made one massive error in his career, the sammy lee hiring.

But I'm certain his wage is on a par and probably lower (please correct me) than most chairman, don't hate the player, hate the game.

the real ire should be directed at the wages the players take home.

It was a mistake, but far from his biggest.

By far his biggest was employing Megson and letting him spend £50m or whatever it was.

But in terms of causality, it was the Sammy Lee hiring that led us down that path.

No Sammy Lee, probably, no Megson.

I know he hires managers but i mean day to day stuff.

He's been at the club since 1987.

I don't really get the ill feeling towards Eddie Davies, he's invested millions. How it's spent is down to Gartside and the manager. I'd prefer him that way to actually trying to get involved in the football matters.

Eddie is the man for me.

But its bad when fergie comes out with, he would give SKD a testimonial" to the charity of SKD" because of how bad Gartside dealt with the situation.

In my view Eddie's lack of concern or vision is part of the reason. Most CEO's of major companies come & go...... little old Bolton from the 70's has long gone. Sometimes it just time to move on....that's all.....no bad feelings.

It gets very dangerous for a club when the owner has too much involvement.

Perfect example is Blackburn but there are many others. I for one am happy he doesn't get too involved until it becomes very serious.





Also I've heard that Bolton has actually been available for some time now for anyone who would pay, but who would take it? not many..

There are clubs available for a lot less money than Bolton who have a much larger potential for expansion.
