Dougie Freedman says his side were unlucky not to have taken all three points in Tuesday’s game against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Bolton turned in a spirited performance on the coast but ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils as the game ended goalless.

Jermaine Beckford came closest to breaking the deadlock, when after seemingly being upended in the area he maintained his balance before hitting the post.

And speaking in his post-match press conference Freedman said: “It was a hugely spirited performance with huge desire shown - I won’t accept the position that this football club is in.

“There were good bits of quality in the first half – we were playing against a team in Blackpool who are riding high, full of confidence and are very hard to beat at home.

“They were playing against my team tonight who haven’t been playing with the most confidence, but they showed great desire and spirit and I thought we were the better team.

“If we’d had a little more luck tonight which I think will come because I think we’re only an inch away, we will win games like that.

“Anybody who knows about football can see that during these past three or four games that we’re very, very close.”

The manager also paid tribute to the club’s recent loan acquisitions and admitted that he was pleased with their efforts throughout the duration of the clash.

“Liam Feeney was fantastic,” he said. “I don’t think too many people had heard of him before he came here, but I’m a manager who likes to pull these players out of the bag.

“Kevin McNaughton brings some defensive qualities and he’s got that defensive instinct to know where to be, and his partnership with Liam was great tonight.

He added: “I know Neil Danns from my Palace days and he’s a wholehearted player – if treated right and managed right, he’s a real top player and we’ve got a couple of decent ones in here.”

I kind of agree with the sentiment of what he's saying, but the team needs to reproduce that kind of performance every week to have chances to win. We have been getting better recently, but we need points now.

Ha ha, you'd think he had a history of producing great players for BWFC.

The clown is deluded.

Is that a reference as to why he was in a bag?

What he's said is true though.

Worst winger we've ever had.
