Millwall have set out their terms to Wanderers for a permanent deal for Liam Feeney.

The winger has been in fine form since making a three-month loan switch but the Lions are now threatening to bring him back early unless a transfer fee can be agreed for January.

“Bolton know the figure we want," chief executive Andy Ambler told the Southwark News. "We are not giving away Liam Feeney for free.

“Liam wasn't playing for us and there was a good opportunity for him at Bolton. His contract expires in the summer so we need to make a decision soon.”

Wanderers have not commented on the record but are understood to be seriously considering a bid.

Lions boss Steve Lomas lost James Henry to Wolves a fortnight ago and now has little cover on the wings. The Northern Irishman is looking for a quick decision on Feeney and has not ruled out welcoming him back into his squad.

“We let Liam go out because he was extremely frustrated but, at the time, we didn't envisage James Henry going to Wolves, so if he isn't coming back then we need to go and get somebody else,” he said.

“I've always felt that there is something there with Liam because he's got the pace to be an exciting winger, it's just about getting the consistency. He wasn't playing regular football with us so it was hard for him to get that consistency.

“We let him out to get some games and it has done him the world of good. It is a win-win situation really.”

it all depends on the fee they want. It shouldn't be that high but he if continues his form it would be silly not to buy him in January.

What a load of bollocks. Two starts and he's a world-beater all of a sudden.

If he's still playing to the same standard at the end of the 3 months then try and sign him, otherwise don't waste anymore money.

We're being held to ransom. Not happy with this, but Millwall have the whip hand.
Tough decision for Dougie because of the money and the uncertainty as to whether Feeney can hack it consistently.

Offer a small amount of cash and bonuses if he continues to play
