My undercover mole has come up trumps again.

From his hidey-hole inside the Reebok silverware cupboard (it's empty, hence it can fit the fat bastard in) my mole has discovered that plans are afoot to install Graeme Souness as the next Bolton Wanderers manager.

I don't have any other details as my mole is currently having to endure a fat Chairman banging his even fatter secretary over his desk.

But this does make sense, Graeme Souness was up for the job when Coyle got the push.

How do you feel about Graeme Souness? There's no doubt he would install some discipline to the team, and there's absolutely no doubt that, even at the age of 60, he would immediately become our best player.

Not perfect, but anyone is better than Douglas.

I worded it like a joke, but it's actually 100% true. Gartside has always been an admirer of Souness.

Not another Scot Nat! Can your mole not find an Englishman anywhere? He'd be better picking a green bogie with more intelligence that Souness.

Come on JAH, Souness would at least kick some backsides! And let's face it, we're not looking for a manager to win the Champions League, we're looking for someone to keep us in the Championship, and maybe get us to mid-table next season.

And if you're a player, who are you more likely to sign for - an ex-Liverpool legend who has a house full of trophies, or Dougie Freedman?

Do you think I'm stupid?

Makes no sense whatsoever.
Not that it's stopped the Board before.

He wouldn't cost anything to appoint. He has international experience. He has a cool moustache.

Makes perfect sense if you're Phil Gartside.

Has my mole ever let you down before? Remember Andy Johnson and Alan Irvine?

What a wind up - naming one of the worst managers of all time - in fact Souness was actually voted "Worst Manager"
If I was a betting man I'd be thinking we have more chance of appointing Norton than Souness - and he'd probably do a better job.

The only noteworthy thing Souness did as a manager was naming himself as sub for Rangers so he could have access to the players whilst facing one of his numerous touchline bans.
They hated him at Liverpool and he was sacked after a crap season which included getting knocked out of the cup by Bristol city.
It was Souness who signed Ali Dia for Southampton without ever seeing him play - another classic cock up.
He was sacked after 4 months at Torino.
At Benfica, he refused to sign Deco FFS - and was sacked after two of the worst seasons in their history.
At Blackburn he signed a load of useless players like Grabbi and got rid of the likes of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.
He failed and was sacked at Newcastle and 2 years later was voted the "Worst Football Manager" in the Observer Sport Monthly.

And he's always had loads of money to waste.
Just goes to show what a fantastic job Dougie is doing by comparison. Ali Dia FFS!

I agree to be honest, makes me sad to see the amount of anti scottish bile coughed up after every defeat.
