Uwe Rosler is hoping to walk into a hostile atmosphere in today’s derby.

Four months after beating Wanderers in his first home game in charge of Wigan, the German boss is looking to make it a double to further his side’s chances of a top-six finish.

Whites fans would love nothing more than to dent their local rivals’ ambitions and Rosler is certainly not expecting the welcome mat to be rolled out at the Reebok.

“In a hostile atmosphere you need players to stay calm and concentrate on the job in hand, and not get phased by the surroundings and aggression,” he said.

“I remember my first game, it was a fantastic atmosphere and I expect that at Bolton.

“I am an emotional person so I love a hostile atmosphere in a stadium. As a player it gave me a little bit extra, and now, as a manager, it’s always very good because it keeps the players on their toes.

“(But) it’s important we stay calm and stay focused to win the game.”
