I only caught the headline to this so...

Anyway, would it be morally wrong for three people to conceive a baby between them using dna from all three of them thus making them three equal parents?

Just saw this.

If it's actually true that 3 lots of DNA would be used it's horrendous - but if it's in-vitro I can't see how that would work as the the first sperm to arrive on the scene fertilises the egg even if the egg is swimming in a bukkakke-style bucket of jizz with 50 contributors.

It could be DNA cloning using selected bits of the chain (i.e. pick the best characteristics and glue them together) but that's not IVF so I don't get it. Is there a link to the headline?

As I understand it, it's about de-selecting certain problematic genes and replacing them with "normal" ones, prior to insemination, to eradicate diseases / defects.
