Would it work with a plantain?

Banana is full of potassium. Good for the colon.

Much better than a pineapple which tends to keep you awake in my experience.
As RT suggests, I'd go with window blinds and drugs. If you don't like the hard stuff like Nytol, try Kalms herbal drugs.
You may also wish to consider not sleeping on an Army firing range.

After all this talk of not being able to sleep yesterday, it happened to me!
It must have been around half 3 this morning when I finally managed to doze off to sleep!

Seriously though, in summer, I used to wake up before five am every morning and we bought some blackout blinds in the bedroom and they work a treat. I tend to have a cup of tea about half an hour before bedtime. Avoid coffee! A glass of hot water from the tap is supposed to help you sleep but I wouldn't recommend a banana. It's loaded with potassium which is an energy booster.
Best of luck to you Bonce.

The doctor told me not to eat anything before going to bed because, instead of being relaxed,my stomach was working hard at digesting what I'd eaten, making getting off to sleep difficult. Will certainly try the blackout blinds RT,because even heavy curtains allow a good level of light in. Thanks for all the advice though fella's. Even you Magoo, you barmpot.
