Dougie Freedman feared for Andy Lonergan, pictured, after the Wanderers goalkeeper was clattered in the final minutes of Tuesday night’s win against Rotherham.

The Wanderers boss hit out after a heavy challenge by Millers keeper Adam Collin left his keeper requiring nearly four minutes of medical attention.

After losing Adam Bogdan to a freak finger injury last Friday, Freedman could be forgiven for being upset at Collin’s over-exuberance as he ventured up-field for a corner in stoppage time.

“It was a horrible challenge,” he said. “It was very disappointing to see that happen goalkeeper to goalkeeper.

“I was relieved to see him get up in the end, because we would have had problems. There are no other senior goalkeepers left at the club.

“That’s why I felt bringing in Paddy Kenny was crucial. What happened to Adam was a real kick in the teeth.”
