Teenage striker Alex scores on Under-21s debut

Sixteen-year-old striker Alex Samizadeh marked his promotion to Wanderers' Under-21s with a goal just 12 minutes into his debut at Cardiff today to earn his side a 1-1 draw.

The first-year scholar started on the bench in south Wales after netting six goals in just four outings for David Lee's Under-18s already this campaign.

Samizadeh was introduced on 63 minutes with the Whites a goal behind and with a quarter of an hour to go he levelled it up when he coolly finished after running through one-on-one with the Bluebirds keeper.

Iain Brunskill's development squad had fallen behind on 17 minutes when Eli Phipps dived to head home at the far post for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have been drawn at home against Manchester City in the semi-final of this year's Manchester Senior Cup on a date to be announced.

The development squad are the holders after beating their City counterparts 1-0 last month.

i read about this while eating my bacon and cheeseburger

he sounds really promising.  6 in 4 for the under 18's and then scoring on his debut after coming off the bench.  he will be on the full team bench by the end of the season.....................if we haven't sold him

At 16 most players are usually just stepping up and coming to terms with under 18s football. This kid is already scoring for fun and is probably now going to be a regular at under 21. Very promising

Can't believe he's only 16, big lad.

i agree, i've not seen any footage (maybe biggie or KP would be able to source some) but from just this report alone it sounds like we might have a *whispers very very silently* goalscorer

It doesn't look like it I'm afraid, but if there was then you would have to pay to access it which is a bummer.
