Never started a thread before but just watching the masters and our cousins over the pond are really getting on my nerves.

seems every time someone hits an approach shot to the green some idiot in the crowd yells 'in the hole', 'get up there' or some other off the shelf phrase.

Made me think if there is anything more annoying that sports fans do.

I do that every time I hit a golf shot, the ball never listens though.

Man United fans singing songs about Eric Cantona, then saying Liverpool fans live in the past.

Resisting the urge to type wrestling fans that think wrestling is real Very Happy

'You're the Man!' is one I particularly dislike.

We all know wrestling isn't real, usual suspects aside,(good evening Johnny)and UFC is just silly.

Wrestling was only any good in the days of Shirley Crabtree and Kendo Nagasaki.

I don't share the same need to yell as I play a shot, perhaps I don't want to draw attention to how badly I play.

People that go watching darts and dance about or go in fancy dress, I know it adds to the atmosphere but they can all fuck off.

I agree. It became very prevalent at cricket matches at one time, much to my distress.
The only time I found it funny was when a group of lads turned up as Elvis, and were signaling fours 'Elvis style'.

Greatest golf shot ever. Ousthouzen just got a hole in 1 after his ball landed on the green ricochet off his opponents ball and into the hole.

Not much now, odd trip down the driving range and an outing once or twice a year in the works tournament, way too time consuming unfortunately but would like to get back into it.

Do you play much barb?

I've played 4 times in the last 8 days. Played at Regent park on Chorley old road yesterday. Went road in 86 in with standing water on some of the greens which wasn't to bad. Played Hart Common on Monday but tend to play in Southport and Chorley.

Playing Hart Common again this Saturday.

Hard to think of golf as a real sport, when you can play it,and smoke at the same time.

I'd be divorced in a fortnight if I so much as attempted that, but hopefully when the football season is over I will get a few rounds in.

Used to play a few years ago,but I got obsessed with technique, and it just became a horror show.
Keep it simple is always the best advice.
