The new bury chippy is not far from me but I've not been for a few years as it was always a bit hit and miss so im surprised at this award. May have to give it another try.
Bennets lane has been great for nearly 30 years and there's a good one in Atherton as well near where I work.

I used to live on Bennetts Lane when i was a kid, right across from the chippy and went to Smithills so as you can imagine i spent a lot of time in that chippy

Norpig, we used to sneak out of smithills most dinners n either get pastie barm with salad cream (controversial sauce choice I know) from Diane's at bottom of Adrian Road or go to Bennetts n get chips gravy pea soup and scraps, the most you could get for your 68p in them days. If you got a chunk of fish in your scraps you were quids in!
