Charlton have held talks with Bolton Wanderers over a loan deal for Ben Amos.
The 27-year-old is a big wage-earner at the newly-promoted Championship outfit, with any interested club only likely to pay a fraction of the salary he negotiated on a free transfer from Manchester United in July 2015.
Amos, who still has two years to run on his contract with Wanderers, spent last season on loan at Cardiff City, who are understood to have paid a significant portion of his weekly wage.
Charlton are in the market for a shotstopper with Dillon Phillips the only senior one on their books.
Amos has been capped by England at under-17 level right the way through to under-21.
He played just seven times for Manchester United and had stints at Oldham Athletic, Molde, Hull City, Carlisle and Peterborough United.

Former Manchester United keeper Ben Amos in talks over loan switch from Bolton Wanderers to Charlton Athletic

BEN Amos has held talks with Charlton Athletic about a potential loan deal.
The Wanderers keeper has been made surplus to requirement at the Macron, and is behind Ben Alnwick, Mark Howard and Jake Turner in Phil Parkinson’s plans.
Amos was told at the start of the month he could find a new club but still has two years left on his contract at Bolton, where he remains one of the highest earners in the squad.
Charlton are understood to have held talks with Amos and his representatives this afternoon but no agreement has yet been made on how much of his salary the South London club will pay.

Former Manchester United keeper Amos joined on a permanent deal on his exit from Old Trafford in the summer of 2015 but struggled to replicate the form he had shown during a previous loan spell.
He spent last season at Cardiff City and made 16 appearances in the Championship.
