Bolton Wanderers Under-23s travel to Sheffield Wednesday for a top of the table clash in their latest Professional Development League outing on Tuesday afternoon.

Kicking off at 1pm at the Owls' Middlewood training complex, the young Whites will be hoping to continue their good form after winning eight of their last nine league games.

Both sides currently play in the Northern section of the division with Bolton sitting in second place after last Monday's dramatic victory over Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, hosts Sheffield Wednesday are currently first in the division but have dropped points in both of their last two matches, drawing with Birmingham City and losing to Crewe Alexandra.

The Trotters trail the Owls by three points and an inferior goal difference with a +7 compared to +9.

But David Lee's side have scored more goals than Sheffield Wednesday, meaning any victory would see them leapfrog their opponents into first place.

Why aren't these lads making the bench regularly for the first team?

I wouldn't know Hall or King if I fell over them. But I guarantee you they are skinny and lightweight. It seems to be the BWFC way.

When will we see the next Bruno N'Gotty?

Perhaps because they are top of the professional development league 2 north for cat 2 academies which means there are a lot of development teams above them in the scheme of things and implies that they aren't necessarily the best prospects around - although TBF they can only play what's in front of them and they are doing that well enough.
But not enough to impress Parky it would seem.

Not that they don't impress him, he's just to fearful to give them a go, Coleman is going with kids, and they look hungry.

TBF a few of them have been on the bench at various times this season, but Parky uses them as the last resort. I'm sure they'd get more opportunities for first team experience if our league position wasn't so precarious.
