Wanderers are planning another ambitious move to bring Chung-Yong Lee back from Crystal Palace.

The Korean midfielder is surplus to requirement at Selhurst Park and has started just once in the Premier League this season.

Phil Parkinson made a late bid to bring him on loan at the start of the campaign, which was turned down by the player on summer deadline day.

The Bolton News understands an approach has again been made to Palace to loan the 29-year-old until the end of the season.

Chung-Yong was signed from FC Seoul for £2.2million in 2009, bursting on to the Premier League scene and winning the club’s player of year award.

A badly-broken leg in July 2011 curtailed his progress but the midfielder returned to become a regular in the Championship before moving to Palace in February 2015.

In total he played 195 times for Bolton, scoring 20 goals.

You're probably right. When he played for us before we were a better ,more skilful team and his talents were more valuable. Now he's be just one more mediocre player because he would be surrounded by mediocrity.
To improve our prospects we need a more root and branch transformation  and that might take a few seasons.

Things have gone from bad to worse for CYL since he left us - a string of disastrous errors and generally poor performances on the few occasions he got a start for Palace and dropped by the national team. If he could replicate the form he had for us before he broke his leg he would be a useful addition, but nothing suggests he will. Surely this is just paper talk?

I was only joking really, to be fair I'd take him back and play him in central midfield alongside Henry.

He's no Pratley in terms of getting stuck in, but it's quality we need. And he isn't scared of the ball like the majority of our players.
