I posted earlier that i had to decide if i should pay the full wack or wait to get my pensioner discount on my birthday (1st Sept) to renew my season ticket.
Well today i decided to take the hit with the early payment deadline looming. I felt i wanted to keep my seat and had to cough up the £417.
This is what happened
Hi Love can i renew my season ticket please. (SA) what seat number, i give my card and she confirms my name and address and seat number. I say " bit gutted to be having to renew in full" she says oh god i can see why your birthday means your over paying for most of the season? Yep
Well i can fix that she says, we have some flexibility in cases like this so i am going to charge you the OAP price of £259.
I thank her, she says some try it on asking when they have a birthday in February but you are just three weeks into the season.
She tells me a further reduction at 75 and if you get to 90 it's free !!!! so i asked if she could pick me up if i reach 90?
Told me they had sold over 8000 and expect more before the deadline.
So football still as a soul saved me £158 a great result.
