Manager Owen Coyle has expressed his disappointment at the club’s early exit from the Capital One Cup.

Leading until the last ten minutes after Benik Afobe’s first competitive goal for the club, Bolton conceded two late strikes at Broadfield Stadium.

We were very comfortable in the game at 1-0 and had numerous chances to finish the tie off, but we never took them,” said Coyle.

“Fair play to Crawley they pushed on and chased the game, but my disappointment is that we conceded two late goals. We never reached the levels that we are capable of or gained any fluency or cohesion in the game.

“We made seven changes to give a game to some of those who had missed out but, regardless of that, we know we have enough quality to have won, and that is obviously a huge disappointment.

“We wanted a cup run - any game you enter into you want to win, so it’s disappointing that we didn't see the game out. We had put ourselves in a good position with the early goal and it should have been the foundation to see us through.

“Having said that, we felt that we should have had a penalty when Darren Pratley was clipped inside the area. Sometimes decisions don’t go your way.

“Both Benik and Josh picked up knocks and so we will see where we are with them. We will get ready to go again for our game at Hull on Saturday.”

Wish he'd make his fecking mind up - were we "comfortable" or did we not have "any fluency or cohesion in the game"?

If this man told me it was raining - I'd go to the window myself to look - that's how much I believe him!

I am sick of his bullshit , it's one humiliation after another with this useless excuse of a manager ,crawley town for fucks sake. What's it going to take to sack this man.

The result itself is meaningless, but the fact again we concede late goals is a factor, Coyles fitness regime has to be questioned, as well as his ability as a manager, he just never learns, how many times have we been drawing or winning with 4 5 1, and clueless reverts to 4 4 2 only for us to go on and lose or draw, Gartside must be the only person not to realise that this useless Jock prick is leading us into the abyss.

Is it me or is he slowly turning all these defeats solely down to the "clueless" decisions of the match-game referees? Should have had a penalty in this game, that game, decisions went against us blah blah blah Why does he never apologies for his own ineptness!

Must admit from the back end of last season coyle has blamed the refs for a lot of things that he thinks have cost us the game.

It's never coyles fault though no matter what happens and never takes blame for anything.

This is why we need a prolific striker...

Everyone wants a prolific striker, but until Coyle sorts out out fragile defence it won't matter how many we score.

"We never reached the level we are capable of".. Well, Coyle, that's because you can't get the players to that level. The sooner you realize that, the better for the club. Perhaps it's time to leave?

Probably not- how would they find out before some sort of official announcement was made.
I think we're stuck with him a bit longer.
Of course- if we beat Hull then his star will be in the ascendant again.

Wikipedia informed us that Carlos Sanchez was staying at Whittam Towers in Preston whilst negotiating a move to Windermere Wanderers the other week. So the Coyle thing is bound to be true.

Apparently coyle said we should have had a penalty but we shouldnt be relying on a penalty to beat teams like crawley

People do know that Wikipedia can be edited by ANYONE at ANY TIME and include absolutely ANYTHING even if it's completely UNTRUE.

It does make me laugh when someone changes Messi's "current club" to Bolton and someone posts it on a forum all excited.

He has been "bad-mouthing" referee decisions for quite a bit now and not just since the start of this season 2 weeks ago but have noticed it long into last season as well.

And as you say he shouldn't just be relying on referee decisions but we should be playing football!

Todays Bolton news, Coyle, the defeat by Crawley was nothing to do with tactics or formations, its the players, now he actuallly said that, errrrrm hello Owen.
