The Rider of a stolen motorbike fell from his vehicle while taunting police.

Officers found the vehicle, a scrambler off-road bike, while searching around an industrial estate in Halliwell on Thursday afternoon.

But, after seeing the police, the rider attempted to taunt officers only to accidentally fall from his seat before police seized the bike.

It was one of two vehicles taken off the street during the afternoon, alongside what appeared to be a blue Vauxhall Astra which was displaying false licence plates.

Both the bike and the car were taken away by recovery crews close to the Nelson Mill on Brownlow Way, Halliwell.

After seizing the vehicles, police sent out a statement on Twitter along with a picture of the recovery truck.

It said: “A vehicle on false plates and a stolen Scrambler bike seized by Halliwell Officers.

“A belated Christmas present. Not to mention the driver of the scrambler bike accidentally fell off whilst trying to taunt police!”
