Fwiw there was a serious side to my post though in that Allardyce will never return to Bolton no matter how much people believe that one day he will.

He's long since outgrown us and moved on.

I expected to be shocked. I wasn't. I'm hurt.

I have said for many years that I wouldn't WANT Sam back as manager. History is replete with examples where managers return to a former club and fail. Howard Kendall, Joe Royle and Kevin Keegan plus of course Jose Mourinho are all examples of this. I want to keep the memories of Sam's time with us untarnished and I think it's better we find a new, young manager with hunger and something to prove.

It's  like old friends.

It's okay to send them a Christmas card every year, but don't agree to meet them.

The world has moved on.

It's like school reunions.

Since Big Sams England managers job, they have now included an option to take a bung on fifa football manager in order to boost your earnings. The downside is that if you get caught you face an 8 hour meeting with the FA ethics committee and a huge fine.

He hasn't turned down the Newcastle job. He was contacted along with god knows how many other potential candidates, and knowing he wouldn't come close to getting the job, or being accepted by the fans (they're just lost Rafa!), he's opted out instead of wasting his time and used it as an opportunity to get his name out there and associate himself with a big club. Newcastle fans would riot if Fat Sam or  Kebab Slayer Bruce got the job.
