Keith Hill is gearing up for a Manic Monday after being unveiled as the new manager of Bolton Wanderers.

Within hours of getting the nod from the Football Ventures consortium on Saturday night, the former Rochdale boss and his fellow Boltonian assistant manager David Flitcroft were sounding out potential signings.

Wanderers have until 5pm to secure loan deals or transfers involving a fee – and a busy day is expected at the UniBol as the new management team set about building a squad.

Continuing transfer restrictions from the EFL mean the club is limited to 23 professional contracts, of which 12 spaces are still available.

It is expected several spots will be filled today to enable the players to face Bradford City in the Leasing.Com Trophy tomorrow night.

The first name through the door could be Scotland international Liam Bridcutt, who is hotly tipped to join on loan from Nottingham Forest.

Interim boss Jimmy Phillips believes that Wanderers will be an attractive proposition for players who are out of work or looking for extra playing time on loan.

“All players want to be playing football who are out of contract and they are not doing at this point in time,” he told The Bolton News.

“I don’t think it will be difficult. The difficult part is getting players who the manager thinks can mould themselves to whatever tactics he feels are necessary to suit his demands.

“We are allowed to sign another 12 players – to do all of that on Monday would be a tall order but the new owners understand the need and they are willing to back the new manager.

“We know results haven’t been great but anyone who wants to sign for this club need just look around the stadium, look around the training ground and realise the club has got everything there.

“We have been through really harsh times but we have got to look towards the future.

“I’m convinced that good players will want to play for us.”

Wanderers have reduced prices to the Bradford game to just £5.

I never heard of them either but its warm bodies and not kids. So now toss in a few free agents and we might get a team out of it.
Keith still has a hell of a job on to gel a team out of this lot. We will have to take a few more beatings but at least the 5-0 should be halted. Exciting to see what happens.
