To the huge list of amazing achievements by fellow Lancastrians, as charted by Wikipedia, the name of Jimmy Anderson must be added if he doesn't already appear. 600 Test Match wickets now, making him the most successful pace bowler of all time. Incredible skill, stamina and sheer will power mark him out as very special We should all be toasting him as proud Lacastrians. A knighthood surely awaits.

Well played that man. Still a few wickets left in him yet.

However, the honours system is a farce, so I won't be pushing for it.

Honours system a farce? Do you really think so, Boncey?

So do I.

Out of 1,041 members - if they ever turned up.

Now see the similarities between the two?

Ask any pensioner today, in the street, to ` roll us your Cap! ` and there will be less than one in a hundred can do it. Some wont even know what it means.

I am surprised no-one knows. It is when you get your flat cap in one hand, then you lean forward, and allow it to roll on its edge along one arm, behind your head ( across the neck ) and roll along the other arm into your other hand.
It isnt easy. Back in the 80`s there were lots of Pensioners who could do that.

I can't remember many old blokes doing this. I've just tried it with mine and it went into the washing up.

I'm now being accused of being senile.

Being unable to roll your cap doesnt manifest from senility. It is a difficult trick to do. One must practise.

OAP`s neednt practise rolling their caps in secret. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Keir Starmer will soon be practicing it on his allotment while speaking up for all of Britains traitors.

Tbh sunlight your french is a bit “average” from what you’ve posted so far. I appreciate your enthusiasm but I reckon you’ve a fair way to go before you could be “immersed” in it. Not being critical in any way as it’s an admirable objective but you’d learn a lot from a few months in France. I’d recommend the south west eg Argiles or Ceret area as you’ll get a bit of a Basque twang along the way. Love your ambition though.

I can’t imagine Sir Keir ever speaking up for Boris, Farage, Cummings or the media barons.

I am immersed in it. I watch French Television all the time. I am very good at reading it and knowing what they are saying. Being what Boris Johnson would call a Plebeian, I cant afford to go to live in France pour six months to develop my speaking it, which is very poor. I havent ever had the opportunity to speak it.

Just shout at the buggers. It works with the Germans and the Spaniards. They understand the refined tones of an Englishman, mark my words.
I don't bother with the Italians. I run out of things to wave about.

They dont have time to practice in secret since Macron forced them all to work a grueling 20 hour week ( with only 2 hours for le diner ).
