Monkeypox: Two more people infected to take total to nine in UK

Most of the cases so far are in men who are gay, bisexual or who have sex with men.

Monkeypox is not normally a sexually-transmitted infection, but it can be passed on by direct contact during sex.

Just for perspective, only 1% of people who contract the UK strain of monkeypox die - most recover without treatment within a month. That's slightly lower than COVID.
