Morecambe 'unfortunate' to lose against Wanderers, says Adams 14482205

Morecambe boss Derek Adams reckons his side were “unfortunate” to leave the UniBol empty handed following their 1-0 defeat against Wanderers.

Conor Bradley got the decisive goal six minutes before the break as Ian Evatt’s men continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Adams felt his side looked “very organised” and restricted the Whites to few opportunities in front of goal.

“I thought it was a very good performance from us tonight. It was probably one of our best performances coming here,” the Scot told BBC Radio Lancashire.

“I think the way we passed the ball and retained possession – and the chances we had in the game – we were unfortunate not to come away with a draw and maybe even a win.

“Tonight, they have had an opportunity in the box and been able to scramble a goal in.”

He added: “I think we looked very organised, tactically we were very good because Bolton have beaten Wycombe Wanderers here 3-0 in the past, and they didn’t have too many opportunities in the game.

“We were unlucky with Ryan Delaney’s header in the second-half which went past the upright, [Farrend] Rawson had a header on goal as well.”

Despite the match taking place on a weeknight, more than 16,000 Bolton fans were in attendance at the UniBol.

“We have shown how well we can play against the top teams in this league,” said Adams. “We have had to go away to difficult places like Peterborough and Bolton tonight, and we have shown up well.

“If you look at the options that they have and the amount of money that they have been able to generate because of the crowds that they have here, it is only natural that they are going to have a bigger squad.”

Sounds like sour grapes but he has a point. Cole Stockton would probably have buried the header Delaney missed and we struggled for a second goal - it was a close game.

I expect if he knew who you were, he'd speak highly of you too, Mr Pig.

I think Adams manages his limited resources rather well. Coming close to nicking summat at the Reebok, without your only striker of note, was a decent effort from the Shrimps imo.

What's your opinion about why the PBP debt hasn't been repaid or why Sharon (according to the audited accounts she signed off) reckons that the Reebok Stadium is worth less than Morecambe's Mazuma?

Could be the buried treasure that lies beneath. Morecambe had a pirate ship on the front back in the sixties, and you know what pirates get up to.
We were constantly harassed by one legged men with rude parrots when we were there, a memory that still haunts me.
Treasure trove is the answer Bob, me hearty. Aye.....
