'Huge amount of talent' - Evatt pleased with Morley development 16465378

Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has been impressed with Aaron Morley’s development – and reckons the midfielder could go on to have a “special career”.

Morley has become a key figure for the Whites since his return to the side, forming an effective partnership with Kyle Dempsey.

Evatt believes the pair provide a good balance in the middle of the pitch and hopes they can continue to shine ahead of Saturday’s trip to Wycombe.

“They both bring different things to the table,” he told The Bolton News. “Kyle is really dynamic. Considering his size, he is really good at winning first contacts and second balls.

“He seems to cover a lot of grass, he can dribble through lines and penetrate through lines. He is probably more attacking than Aaron is.

“Aaron’s development has been fantastic. He is a young player with a huge amount of talent and he can achieve whatever he wants to achieve.

“He just needs to dedicate his life to the game, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and I am sure he will have a special career.

“He is a really talented player and his out of possession work is now massively improving, which is good to see.”

There is certainly a feel-good factor around the University of Bolton Stadium following Wanderers’ strong form of late.

But there is still plenty of work ahead as the Whites aim to keep the pressure on the sides above them in the table.

Evatt insists his players cannot afford to get carried away and refuses to look past a trip to a promotion rival this weekend.

The manager explained: “We have worked really hard - myself, Sharon (Brittan), the owners and the rest of the staff - to create a culture where we are all very much in this together.

“We are all pulling the same direction and that has not always been the case, so that is a start. The fans have been excellent. The work we have done in the community has really helped build that connection.

“But off the back of that, the results are what matters and the most important thing. Two 5-0 wins, we have to just pull the reins in a little bit and say, ‘let’s just calm down’.

“We are all excited and it is great we are all excited, but for us internally it is just about managing that expectation, keeping ourselves very calm and composed, being consistent with our behaviour and making sure it is just the next-game mindset and mentality.”
