Longridge Town 2-5 Bolton Wanderers B - match report 17015493

The goals flooded in as Wanderers' B Team ran out 5-2 winners in torrential conditions at Longridge Town.

Arran Pettifer, Trevon Bryan, Ben Andreucci, Finlay Lockett and Gio Loureiro were all on target for the young Whites.

The opening 25 minutes were even, with both sides playing some good football but struggling to carve out chances in the final third.

But Wanderers grew stronger as the half went on, with Max Conway causing the Longridge backline chaos down the left wing.

It came as no surprise when Conway created the opener, getting to the byline and picking out Pettifer in the box. The midfielder slotted home from close range after making an intelligent run.

Bryan doubled the lead on the stroke of half time with a fine free kick after Lockett was brought down on the edge of the area. The goalkeeper got a hand to it but couldn’t keep it out.

Former Wolves and Rochdale youngster Luke Matheson featured for Wanderers as a trialist during the first half.

Meanwhile, Dion Charles was in attendance to watch the action after scoring for the first team in their 5-2 victory against Bradford City earlier in the day.

The hosts pulled one back early in the second half when Morgan Homson-Smith’s cross went in off Noah Halford.

But the Whites quickly restored their two-goal cushion, with Andreucci providing a composed finish past the onrushing goalkeeper after latching onto Wes Frimpong’s pass.

Lockett then added a fourth with a thumping strike from a tight angle that flew in off the woodwork.

Loureiro made it five, after charging down the goalkeeper’s clearance. The ball ricocheted towards goal and trickled over the line.

The hosts pulled another goal back from the penalty spot after a late challenge in the box. Dean Ing kept his cool to send Luke Hutchinson the wrong way.

There were plenty of positives to take for Craddock, whose side have another friendly against Atherton Colls this weekend.
