It's a shame these players don't seem to see any first team action!

Just saw this on Twitter. Good news, although pointless if we don't start bringing the talent through to the first team.

What does this mean to the club in layman's terms, though? What is the real benefit?

Not sure how having a bit of money is going to tell a young aspiring talent to sign for us instead of Man U/Man City/Liverpool etc.

Me neither. I'm still not exactly sure what it means in real terms.

As I understand it, we are now considered to have a top quality academy and will be funded to the tune of in excess of £775,000 a year for three years. Nice bit of change to spend on young talent and their development.

The money would be better spent by giving it to Darequam to do some decent scouting in Africa.

Another benefit: We will now play in the Elite league against Man U, Man City, Arsenal etc so they can scout our bright young players and poach them if they are good enough.
