Mark Davies

A few weeks ago we heard the surprising news that sparky was set to extend his contracts further 2 years until 2017. This definitely proved to us fans that he is fully committed to getting us back into the premiership.

News on this has completely died down and it's got me worried that he's realised we aren't going up and that he probably feels he's at the time in his career when he needs to be playing premiership football, to give him any chance of playing for England.

Am I thinking too much into this, is he having second thoughts or have I just completely missed the news?

Last I heard he was committed to a new contract. It was only Alonso who was likely to be moving on at the end of the season.

Didn't Nixon tweet that he had signed the extention - or have I just made that up?

I think tonight's game proved to the doubters that Mark Davies is a vital cog in the Wanderers machinery. Up until his injury he was bossing the midfield, sitting just behind Marvo and Ngog.

His withdrawal really hurt us and it showed on the pitch. Holden is clearly not match fit and up to speed but when they are both firing on all cylinders they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Think hes fucked now for a while...

If he walked off it won't be that bad

We just wernt the same team after Mavies went off. As for Stu, it will only be game time that gets him up to speed now so was good to see him playing.

I was reading that this morning and thought it was ironic we have signed a promising player who is currently crocked. I do think he's injury prone, or rather that he gets a lot of stick from players that try to unsettle him.
If I was managing a team playing against us I'd be encouraging my midfielders to get some hefty tackles in on our "flair" players like Mavies and Holden just to test their bottle.
