Stockport fans attacking players!

Not sure what is happening but this is a tweet from the official Kiddyminster Harriers site -

Trouble at Aggborough. Fans from Stockport end invade pitch. Punches thrown at Kiddy players. Ref takes players off pitch.

...and a BBC re-tweet of a Football Conference tweet -

Ugly scenes now with County fans onto pitch throwing punches at players. Disgraceful

Woah, attacking your own team. Doesn't get worse than that!

Can't believe what we're hearing. Kidderminster are playing Stockport and the Ref has had to take everyone off the pitch as the Stockport

Fans have invaded the pitch and started attacking the Kidderminster players. Both teams need to win, one to win the League, one to stay up!

Come on, who hasn't been at a game and felt like twating the overpaid ponces.

Stop defending these ponces. If someone had taken a kitchen knife to Zat Knight back in August we'd be celebrating promotion today.

If that was to happen then we would be taking a BBAD step back in time with regards to fencing issues - it begins with nets and then end up with metal pens like we had in all stadia - including Hillsborough!

It is quite amazing the fall of Stockport. It is funny to think they were a Championship team only 10 years ago and next season find themselves in the Northern League Unibond League.

You know who is to blame for this fall from grace? Carlton Palmer! He was the manager who fucked things up for them.

They were our rivals for promotion in the 92/93 season. Kevin Francis was unstoppable. We ended up going one way and they went the other over the next 20 years though.

Kidderminster’s Lee Vaughan was punched by the hooligan, who had been part of a pitch invasion by travelling Stockport fans. The mob had flooded on to the pitch after seeing their side concede a goal early in the second half.

The players were taken off the field for their own safety and the match was suspended for 28 minutes as the police sought to restore order.

When the match resumed, the home side completed a 4-0 victory which relegated Stockport from the Conference, two years after their demotion from the Football League.

We beat them in the play off final the season after and they haven't recovered since.

They actually thought themselves to be our rivals from the late 80's to the mid 90's.

A Burnley fan was stabbed at Wembley by one of their lot (possibly a Man City fan as they asked them to help support them). There was also the Battle Of Edgeley Park where they had a right go outside, running battles all round the ground.

I also remember (as it was on my birthday), two County fans jumping over the fence into the away end at their place. Imagine jumping into a packed away end, brave or stupid?

I saw one of them get hit with the surge of Burnley fans and all of his front ivories left his head.

Didn't Megson visit the ground every now and again with teh various teams he has been with (before being sacked from each one, except Leicester)

I'm not surprised to see the culprits in those photos appear to be chavs.

They look a bit older than your average chav.

A few of them will do time for that.

Megson was manager there for a couple of seasons in the late 90s. I think he did a good job there.

Im sure you just like a good row, you like to look very liberal and new age...

However, you call for nets... If a crush occured like hillsborough you would be the first to call for them to ne taken down.

I don't see why a crush would happen. Everyones got a seat.

I always hope to meet Stockport in the cup and give them a good drubbing. Bunch of wankers.
