Yet another thread about the manager?
Who would actually want his job anyway?
Overrated squad, ungrateful fans with unrealistic expectations, no money to spend, flirting with relegation - nobody in their right mind would want that job.
Dougie's staying to see the rebuilding job through, not least because nobody else wants it.

About 75%+ of managers out there.

Managers don't give a shite about long-term prospects, they just want to get their signature on the dotted line that says they are entitled to a big pay off when they get sacked.

So why would we want one of those? Dougie may well be one of them, but it's like-for-like - only if we change again we'll be in for another period of instability and back to the drawing board. They all come in with a long-term plan anyway - that's how they secure a lengthy contract in the first place. The plan usually involves starting with wholesale changes in personnel (at a cost to the club) but there's no money to do that.

Dougie may have his hands tied financially, but at least he now fully understands the extent of the problem and has started to show signs that he's prepared to deal with it.

How many people honestly thought Knight would be subbed midway through the game? Honestly?
Not me for one. For someone who has a reputation for being dogmatic, that was a surprising move and hopefully he'll be prepared to switch things around a bit more until he finds a winning formula.
