As for Holloway, I can never understand why owners suddenly want to sack a manager who got them promoted only 4 months ago, as Nat says what did Palace expect him to do with that set of players?

I have to agree with this.

Did Holloway spend much in the transfer window after coming up to the Prem?

Didn't he try to tap up Baptiste before the season started.

I feel a bit for Ollie. He's certainly a character. I don't think any manager can keep Palace up with their current crop of players. I hope he gets a job soon because I enjoy his post match interviews. Boro perhaps?

Apparently the reason why he left Blackpool and went to Crystal Palace was because he wanted to be closer to his family.

I can't see him taking up the Boro job to be honest.

I have to say that I enjoy his post match interviews as well, he just says it how it is.

Reading did a similar thing last season. Newly promoted with a guy who got them out of the Championship, sacked him when they struggled, and still ended up in the Championship.

If you invest £50m when you get promoted then fine, expectations are high - but Palace haven't bought big, I'm assuming because there wasn't a lot of cash to spend or they didn't want to end up £135m in debt.

So what did they expect?

Exactly. that's one of the main reasons Dougie left them.

They got a few bob for Zaha but looks like they didn't spend it.

Don't let stupid facts like yours stand in the way of two promotions to the PL, and a promotion final loss.

To put these stats into perspective, Dougie's Win percentage:

Crystal Palace - 35.56%
Bolton Wanderers - 32.69%

The problems go back to last season, they limped into the playoffs and there were murmurings there.

the piss poor start has just confirmed what they suspected.

he is a clown first a manager second.

He never got sacked, he approached the Chairman and said its not working, fair play to him.

Holloway is a decent guy, Hipster only hates him because he's a character. Hipster hates characters.
