Following on from last week's Lancashire Senior Cup victory over Manchester United, the club’s youngsters will be hoping that they can replicate their efforts when they take on their Wolverhampton Wanderers counterparts on Monday evening.

Having secured their progression into the final four of the competition courtesy of a dramatic penalty shootout win over the Red Devils in Altrincham last week, the Whites make a return to league action looking to bounce back to winning ways in their domestic campaign after defeats to Everton and Reading in recent weeks.

Their recent reverses have Wanderers residing in 12th position with 21 points accumulated from their 17 league outings so far.

Victory over their Molienux counterparts could see Bolton lifted as high as ninth in the Barclays U21 League table, but they will come up against a Wolves outfit keen to pick up three points after securing just a solitary victory in their last nine games.

A 3-0 reverse at the hands of Southampton in their last outing was a tough pill to swallow for the Wolves youngsters, but currently sitting 20th in the league with 16 points taken from their fixtures so far this term, Steve Weaver’s side will be hoping to record an improved final standing as the season heads towards its conclusion.

Wanderers’ first game at the County Ground since a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in late January, the club’s youngsters will no doubt be hoping for a case of home sweet home come Monday evening.
