Wanderers head to Moss Rose tonight looking to shake off the cobwebs of their Scandinavian tour.

In what was a demanding trip for Dougie Freedman’s side, Wednesday night’s 3-2 defeat at Mjallby left the Whites boss with something to think about as he pondered his return home.

The Scot has plans to tweak the team’s style this season, aiming to be more dynamic going forward.

There were signs in the first three games that the hard work was starting to pay-off but Freedman hinted he may rest some of his bigger names against the Conference club tonight after working them hard on tour.

“We are trying to move things along from where they were last season,” he told The Bolton News. “It takes a bit of time and it definitely takes hard work. And that’s what we’re doing at the moment with certain players – polishing them up so that they can do exactly what I’m asking of them.

“I’m not going to get downbeat about one result because it has been a long and very demanding tour. The players have worked hard every day and that physical aspect might have taken a bit of a toll.

“We’ve got another game at Macclesfield where we’ll change things round and freshen things up a little bit.

“I think attacking-wise we look quite good approaching the goal but it’s quite alarming at times how we’ve been broken on, so it’s something I need to watch.”

Does that mean that he's alarmed by the attacks fizzling out or that we're susceptible to the counter?

Christ, he's going to go even more defensive. If that's possible.

Could it be he hasn't signed a striker because he wants to play a 4-6-0 formation?
