Therefore how the hell did Sammy Lee sign all those players (wasn't it 12????)  in between Big Sam and Megson????

There were 11 players I think?  -

Daniel Braaten, Gerald Cid, Blerim Dzemaili, Zoltan Harsanyi, Jlloyd Samuel, Gavin McCann, Danny Guthrie, Mikel Alonso, Heidar Helguson, Adam Bogdan and Christian Wilhelmsson

Most of them were free transfers or loans.

The Sky payments only kicked in, in time for the January window - when Megson had become the manager.

Just for the record BSA signed Gerald Cyd and Blerym Dzemaili in January on pre contracts before he walked out on the club.

Going back to Gartside's (in)famous "I have a fax in my pocket" quote, I've never really understood what that on was all about.

I've seen it referred to extensively over the years, but still can't find out what it was all about.

Anybody know?

Gartside said: "I received a fax on Saturday morning saying that Rivaldo wants to come to us. It also says he doesn't want to play in Scotland. We are still hoping to do something with him. We've offered him a deal which he has accepted financially and it's just a case of getting with him to put pen to paper."

They may have been loans or free but the massive wage bills that came with them, which basically helped to financially cripple the cub (even with the over-the-top TV Revenue)

Have it admit I couldn't remember how many Lee had signed, as I knew it was more than 8 and less than 13!!!!

Had to laugh seeing the Badgers name on your list.  He certainly gave us plenty to write about at the time.  Bogdan is now our #1,
Jlloyd & Guthrie are better than what we have now. I forget what happened to the rest of them.
