School Trips

blimey, the farthest i ever got was a day trip to Calais with School but it rained all day! Don't think i could afford to send my kids on that, that's for sure.

The furthest I got was to Tatton Park!

we went to the alps once for a week, that was pretty cool.  And we did the calais day trip so the teachers could stock up on booze and fags.  especially dirty diamond, he was like a chimney that bloke!

Did anyone do the PGL thing?

Best I got was a trip round the Lucozade factory in Little Hulton.

We went on a school trip for the weekend to Disneyland in Paris and I was arrested for looting all sorts of shops in there and was subsequently suspended for 4 days. I was a proper little shit.

I never actually knew what PGL stood for although this is what people know it as, PGL actually stands for Peter Gordon Lawrence who was the founder.

I'm not sure which PGL we went to but we were all in tents.

Furthest I got to was Austria for skiing in the old/new year of 1989/1990

But other trips were to France (saw the TdF twice, in person, thanks to the school trips) and also got to Guernsey.

Im sure we had caravan type things when we went. We must have paid the extra 2.50 a head

My daughters school once tried to do a school trip to California and Hawii - true story.

I don't know why, the school was just a normal state school, nothing fancy or anything.

The cost I seem to recall was £1,200 - which I thought was quite reasonable - it would cost far, far more than that if I were to take her.

I actually sent her in with a cheque for the money but I don't think very many other did so the trip was cancelled through lack of interest.

In the end I did in fact take her to California - but we went to Vegas, Grand Canyon and down to Mexico, instead of Hawii.

Cost a lot more than £1,200 each, I can tell you!

Went to Devon to surf, jumped off a dune and landed on a broken bottle. Went to the Lakes and was "approached" by the Physics teacher who lived with his mum and had to decide between expulsion for decking him and running. I was 13 and chose b). Other than that, school trips were OK.

We went and saw a farm up Edgworth that had Cows in a field.

First trip I ever went on was to Ribchester.

Felt more like a punishment rather than a day out.

I've never been back since!

Camp school at Barley.

Which is a good four/five miles away from the school we were at.

My Grandma lived in Barley anyway so it didn't even feel like a trip away.
