She's not a Tory. Would have been a good name if she was.

It was an excellent music forum, the like I've not found since. There's some good stuff on Radio 2 if you look for it Bonce. Craig Charles plays some great vibes after sound of the sixties on Saturday morning. It'll all change when that wanker Norton comes back in a couple of months. I nearly said uphill gardener then but managed to restrain myself!

We need to get back to simpler times where we weren't all too busy to keep an eye out for our friends and neighbours.

I've mentioned before on here an older chap who lives near me who became a recluse after his wife died.

He's a lovely fella and I look forward to dropping in on him for a chat every once in a while and don't see it as a chore.

His kids don't want to know and it's a real shame.

I'm not judging them because I don't know them but it's a shame that this bloke's stuck in on his own and if anything happened to him, it'd be days (if not weeks) before anybody found out.

Sad.

I've left you all some Brucie CD's in my will.
They make great coasters.
I've heard some good stuff on R2 to be fair. Used to love Humphrey Lyttleton on Monday nights.

And believe it or not, that's how the dog got his name.

Speaking of names, the BBC are filming Swallows and Amazons.
The youngest girl is now called Tatty.
In the books she was Titty.
Unbelievable.

I really must stop setting you up like that......

His full name's Humphrey Errol Rhubarb Walkden.

(It sort of evolved over the first few months.)

And Mrs B (out of sheer exasperation) shouted it (in full) at him when he was about six months old and he came back to heel straight away and sat there, gazing up at her like a proper Lab.

So it's his "Fenton - Aw....Jesus!!!" control.

And I really don't feel like a dick on the golf course when he's chasing rabbits and I have to call him back.......honest.

When I was 7,my Gran had a black cat called N****R. Yes,the N word.

She could never settle until he was in for the night,so used to go up and down the street calling N****R.....N****R.

These days she'd be arrested. I cringe when I think back. True story.

As for the Harper Lee book,it's still on my desk unopened. I'm finding excuses not to read it at the moment.

Re - your Granny,

Mrs B's Nan still lives in the same house in LH that she got moved into by the council when they demolished the slums in Salford in the late 50's.

And she's seen her fair share of neighbours over the years.

The latest lot are from Nigeria or somewhere in Africa, wear the full garb and regularly roast odd looking cuts of meat (hooves) over an open pit in the back garden and sing songs from "back home".

Which is fine with me.

And Mrs B.

And Mrs B's Mum (her daughter).

And pretty much everybody else in 2015.

But not Nanna Thorpe!

Oh no..........

I once walked in on a conversation where Mrs B was gently trying to advise her that you can't climb up your step ladders, throw things and shout over the fence that "That Blackie shit should stay in darkest Africa!"

You shouldn't laugh, I know..........

As for the book, I knew you had too much invested in the original to read that bilge. Very Happy

Come on, spill.

When they played one of the theatres on Churchgate?

My Gran used to tell me about all the big names who used to come to Bolton in the 30's and 40's, so I'm genuinely interested.

I know they played Bolton a few times back then.

Could you imagine Bieber (popular wiv da yoof, apparently) playing Bolton?
