Found out how to delete my account.

It's like seeing a big red button with a warning sign.

Here seems as good a place as any to post this.

Just when you think things couldn't get any worse for BWFC, one of our legends goes and gets himself stuck in a bog.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

Definitely the right place to post it.

Shit like that happens to Boncey every other week at least, so if anyone can sympathise, it's him.

I've had enough of Mark Steel now.

I just want him to shut up.

Thank you.

Did you ever read the Go set a watchman that you bought?

Curiosity is pushing me towards it, even though many are not keen.

Thank you.

I once saw Mark Steel play The Octagon about ten years ago doing one of his lectures.

It was painful and nobody laughed or clapped once and being the Octagon is was especially terrible because the front row (me and Mrs B included) were about eight feet from him.

I couldn't make eye contact with him by the end because it was excruciating.

Prior to seeing him, I always liked his stuff but it really put me off.

What's he done now?

If you love To Kill a Mockingbird, I beg you, don't read Go Set a Watchman. Not only will you hate the book, it will tarnish your memories of TKAM. This is a public service announcement brought to you by Disenchanted Readers Inc

Can't bring myself to read 'Watchman'. Think I'll leave it at that, but if you do read it 58.the feedback would be appreciated.
As for Steel,I heard him on 'The News Quiz' last night on Radio Four, and I just had to turn it off, after yet another of his leftie rants against the usual suspects.
Yes Mark,we know you're on the left politically, but just give it a rest.
Lazy comedy.

Manda has obviously read 'Watchman' Very Happy

He's not going to read it, Mand.

He knows better and has already said as much.

I took a sneak peek when I was in Tesco last year and couldn't believe how large the typeface was.

You could condense the entire thing into about 50 pages of normal sized text.

It should never have been released.

Atticus Finch was not a racist - he was lovely and wise and I wish he was my Dad. (Sorry Bob in Bolton.)

End of discussion.

(Have I told you that Truman Capote actually wrote TKAM and that's why Harper Lee never wrote anything else...?  :bomb:)

I liked Capote. Some of his drunken TV appearances are well worth watching.
