It's HMRC's job to flex it's muscles and pretend it's in charge. We'll get as many extensions as we need, football clubs always do.

I can't believe some of you are letting it have an impact on your lives.

Yes xmiles but the rules and laws concerned are a little different in Scotland. With that said Rangers are by no means out of the woods yet thanks to the 'behind the scenes' dealings that have been going on since the 'newco' was founded. HMRC is taking another very hard look at their books and it could well be that they find themselves back in court thanks to some rather shady appearing 'investments' and 'loans' on which tax has not been paid. Rangers are arguing that this money isn't technically income but HMRC say it is and as such is taxable. I don't know enough about the precise laws involved or how Rangers are able to claim money coming in isn't income but they seemed to think the taxman would agree and finding out he doesn't has come as quite a shock.
