Our next game is against Charlton at home.

Charlton's last 5 Championship results (most recent first):

Charlton 0-1 Derby
QPR 2-1 Charlton
Ipswich 0-0 Charlton
Charlton 2-1 Birmingham
Sheff Weds 3-0 Charlton

Last 5 meetings between both teams (most recent first):

Charlton 2-2 Bolton
Bolton 2-2 Charlton
Bolton 1-1 Charlton
Charlton 2-1 Bolton
Charlton 0-0 Bolton

Can we get a win this game and help secure Charlton's future in League 1 with us?

My prediction Bolton 2-1 Charlton

How do you all feel we will do?

Ref watch: Eddie Ilderton to take charge of Charlton clash

Eddie Ilderton will take charge of Bolton Wanderers’ clash with Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night.

The Tyne & Wear-based official has run the rule over seven Whites’ matches in the past, the most recent being the Whites' defeat away at Nottingham Forest earlier in the season.

In the 28 matches he has overseen so far this season, he has handed out 62 yellow cards and four red cards.

Darren Strain and Ricky Wooton will run the line, while Ben Toner is the fourth official.

Looking at the two thirds empty top tiers on Saturday someone a while ago suggested closing them next season to give a better atmosphere due to the imminent reduction in crowd, I agree.

it makes sense but what do they tell people who have had season tickets up there for years? Can't imagine they would be too happy to have to move

Tell 'em to fuck off, the club is more important than some fat bastard taking up two seats.

Preview: Bolton v Charlton Athletic

SETTING THE SCENE
Bolton Wanderers host Charlton Athletic at Macron Stadium on Tuesday night as the two sides meet for the third time this season.

Fighting out two 2-2 draws earlier in the campaign, first in pre-season at BL6 before again at the Valley back in December, the Whites will be looking to make home advantage count as they bid to finish their season positively.

With their relegation to Sky Bet League One already sealed, a positive result for Bolton will see the Addicks join them in the third tier next season.

Charlton currently find themselves 11 points off safety after suffering back-to-back defeats in their last two outings, adding extra spice in the Trotters’ last midweek match of the season.

TEAM NEWS
Interim manager Jimmy Phillips confirmed Dorian Dervite has returned to full training in his pre-match press conference.

Wellington Silva could also recover in time to feature before the end of the season but is not yet ready to return, while Gary Madine continues to be troubled by injury.

Jay Spearing is unlikely to play for the club again this season while Max Clayton (hamstring) remains a long-term absentee despite recently stepping up his rehabilitation.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite taking the lead through Josh Vela, Wanderers lipped to a last-minute defeat at home to promotion-chasing Middlesbrough in their last outing.

LAST CHARLTON ATHLETIC XI (v Derby County, L0-1)
Pope, Fanni, Solly (Motta 78), Fox, Teixeira, Gudmundsson, Cousins, Harriott, Diarra (Makienok 83), Vetokele, Lookman (Bergdich 89).

ONE TO WATCH
Having spent the first half of the season on loan at Ajax, Yaya Sanogo joined Charlton Athletic from Arsenal in February on a deal until the end of the season.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A former Auxerre youngster, the forward was snapped up by the Gunners in 2013 but has so far found his opportunities limited at the Emirates.

Winning the FA Cup with the Gunners in 2014, Sanogo spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, while he scored a hat-trick against Reading in only his third appearance for the Addicks.

A couple of weeks ago I predicted 5 pts for the remaining matches with this as the sole win. However having seen how we played at the weekend, particularly the manner in which we gave away yet another stoppage time goal I've changed my mind. Charlton need this result badly if they are to have any chance of escaping the drop and our players have less fight in them than a barbie doll.

Bolton 0 - 2 Charlton Athletic with us to have less than 40% possession and no more than 2 shots on goal.
