Leeds eye Parky

Phil Parkinson has emerged as a contender for the vacant manager's position at Leeds United.
The Bolton Wanderers boss has worked under a tight budget and difficult circumstances to bring them back into the Championship at the first time of asking and that has brought him to the attention of Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Leeds are meeting candidates who could succeed Garry Monk this week with Alan Pardew the bookies' favourite while Claudio Ranieri is not in the running at this stage and is expected to speak to Crystal Palace.

Parkinson, 49, won the League Two play-offs with Bradford City in 2013 and took them to the League Cup final and quarter finals of the FA Cup.
He took over at Bolton in 2016 following their relegation to League One and guided them back into the Championship after finishing runners up to Sheffield United on 86 points.
Bolton would demand compensation should any formal approach arrive for Parkinson though the club remains in a precarious financial position.
Parkinson has been working under a transfer embargo, dealing in loans and free transfers for players and that has yet to be lifted ahead of an important summer.

Wonder if Big Ken would turn down a lucrative compensation package for this.

I would think Leeds have a better financial outlook than us at the minute.

Whatever any Bolton fan thinks of him, on paper he's a top manager. He's done a great job at most of the clubs he's been at.

If we were Leeds fans and we didn't know how awful his brand of football can be, we'd be chuffed to bits landing him.

Really , I thought people may have learned that you are not going to get a beautiful game every time you turn up to watch, and under Parky the good games have been more frequent than in the past, especially away from home.

Add that to the fact that we have got results and I don't think many Bolton fans are complaining.

Plenty were complaining when we went on a couple of shit runs.

People will always complain when we're losing, but more so if the football is dire. And it was most of the time.
