What's Nat doing in Scotland? Doesn't she have an empire to run!

Has Campbell ever coached or managed at a club though? Surprised he didn't mentioned the Rooney rule.

Have any of you noticed how well SKD is now faring as Southport manager? They have won 6 of their last eight games since January 1st., and have become much more free-scoring.....even against the mighty Chorley.....

He started off really well and had us playing some great football then the semi-final happened and it all went downhill from there.
He seems like a lovely fella and is great at table tennis but his career has gone down faster than Nat on a night out round Preston since he left us.

Our greatest manager in the modern era was ex an player.Sam has said he'd work at the club again if we get an owner who wants to compete in the Premier League as opposed to Ken who will be delighted to finish 4th bottom of Div 2.

As for Kevin Davies, I am delighted he is getting good results at Southport

Apart from Allardyce who?

Sammy Lee - disaster.
Phil Neil - relegated to the fourth tier!
John McGovern - so successful he was last seen managing Ilkeston Town!
Even Nat Lofthouse was a failure as a manager.

Hundreds and hundreds of players have worn the shirt and only one managed us with success, yet fans clamour for explayers to manage them - it doesn't make any sense that just because you played for the club you would be a great manager of it.

Once in a blue moon it does work out but the majority of times it simply ends in tears.

That's the case for any manager, regardless of whether they played at the club.

And yet a genius like Micky Adams can't get a job in the English game.

This is a myth that simply won't go away, Coyle had the club failing long before the Stoke semi.

From the start of January 2011 to the semi we obtained just 14 points from 13 games (just above relegation form)

The first 20 games had brought 29 points (and 7th in the league!).

The same manager and players that went from a European place to borderline relegation form within the same season! - so what happened.

Simple explanation really, Coyle played the same way every game and whilst it caught some teams out and was successful initially, other managers soon sussed him out and knew what to expect and planned how to deal with it.

Coyle never had a plan B - ever.

Worst Bolton/Wigan/Houston/Blackburn/Ross County manager ever.

Was Coyle a worse Wigan manager than Bruce Rioch?. Whelan gave him silly money to spend by Div 3 standards and sacked him when he lost in the play offs

Coyle could teach some of the sluts here a thing or two on how to properly use ping pong balls!

Seems to me that Whelan thought he was the worst -

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that Owen Coyle's exit has cost the club "in the region of £500,000".
The Latics parted company with manager Coyle on 2 December, less than six months after he was appointed by the FA Cup holders.
Ex-Bolton boss Coyle replaced Roberto Martinez as manager in June.
"Owen had a difficult job but I just don't think he was part and parcel of Wigan Athletic Football Club," Whelan told the BBC.

A loss last Sunday, their fourth loss in five matches, left the Latics 14th in the Championship.
Ex-Bolton boss Coyle was given the task of leading Wigan back into the Premier League following relegation last season.
But the 47-year-old won only seven of his 23 games in charge and departed with Wigan six points from a play-off spot.
"Sometimes managers are successful, sometimes they are not," Whelan said. "When we lost three games in a row I had been watching the selection of the team and the performance and I wasn't happy with the decisions he was making.
"We were good friends so there was no personality clash whatsoever.
"A manager has to come across well and give you the impression he knows the game and you end up interviewing them and it's a finger in the air moment. If he's successful it's great but if in Owen's case he wasn't, the sooner you do something about it the better."

Also I think your memory must be playing tricks on you.

The facts show that Bruce only signed ONE player for a transfer fee in the season he managed Wigan - and even then it was only in the January window for half a year under him -
