WANDERERS are confident they will be able to extend Antonee Robinson’s loan from Everton until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old full-back has impressed in his first full season of senior football, starting 15 games for the Whites since his arrival from Goodison Park.
It is understood a handful of Championship clubs have enquired about the youngster’s availability but that Phil Parkinson has struck up an agreement with Blues’ director of football Steve Walsh which should see him remain at the Macron.

“The indication is that it will be okay with Jedi (Robinson),” Parkinson confirmed on Tuesday. “We’ve had a positive indication from Everton.”
Robinson is currently due to play the final game of his loan spell against Hull City on New Year’s Day, along with Adam Armstrong, Reece Burke and Josh Cullen. Parkinson said he would be making a final decision on the other three players in the next week.
“We’re in talks with the clubs and the players’ agents,” he said. “We’ll make the calls again in the coming week, between the Hull and Huddersfield games because, like I have said before, we cannot weaken the squad, we have to strengthen it.”
Robinson looks set to return to the starting line-up against Sheffield United on Saturday after Andy Taylor suffered a calf injury in the 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.
Parkinson admits losing the experienced Taylor was a blow, given his man-of-the-match performance against Cardiff – but backed the Everton youth product to prove an able deputy.

“Tayls’ calf tightened up, which is frustrating for him and us because he was very good at the weekend,” explained the manager. “It was probably his best game this season.
“Young Antonee Robinson came on and did really well. It’s never easy coming into a game as a sub against a lot of good players but I thought he handled it really well. We’d have no hesitation about playing him at the weekend.”
Parkinson still has high hopes of improving his squad in January’s window, adding: “Like everyone we want more, every manager in the division will be looking to freshen his squad up. We want more players.

“We have got players who didn’t even travel to Boro but if we can find that extra bit of quality, we’ll bring it in.”

He's been the best of the loanees and with Taylor injured we need to keep him. I would send Cullen and Armstrong back, but worth keeping Burke if we can.
