According to Nixon

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has signed Arsenal’s speedy Japanese winger Ryo Miyachi on loan for the rest of the season, writes Alan Nixon .

The talented teenager is being sent north by Arsene Wenger, who hopes the move will have the ‘Jack Wilshere effect’ on him.

Coyle has run the rule over Miyachi and is happy to bring him in and give him his first taste of Premier League football as his club fights for survival.

The 18-year-old follows in the footsteps of Wilshere, who had a spell at Bolton the season before making his big breakthrough for club and country.

Could be a good move. Did Wilshire have any Premiership time under his belt for Arsenal before we took him on loan ? If this lad is half as good as Wilshire is then that would be very good for us; If Coyle plays him of course.

Good. So why bother spending a ridiculous sum on Zaha?

He's a left winger, so will compete with Petrov which shouldn't be too difficult. Clearly Ryo isn't a permanent solution and will need replacing if we stay up. If he comes good he would be preferable to Petrov - providing he learns to track back and put the work in if we haven't got possession.

Still wondering why OC has expressed interest in so many right wingers including Zaha when we have Lee and Eagles. OK Eagles is a bit hot/cold but Lee is here for the long haul isn't he?

Miyachi has Kakuta/Weiss/Rodrigo written all over his head.

We'll see.

I wouldn't be especially upset if he showed the improvement Wilshere showed with us, even if it's damned annoying that we'd be doing Arsenal a favour.

If he does turn out to be a goodun, it's a decent short-term solution as I get fed up with Petrov's wastefulness.

I'm not sure he is. I suspect Gartside hopes to sell Lee for a profit.

We have to accept that we got lucky with Wilshere and Sturridge in that it's not every year that a team has a player of that quality that they're willing to loan out. They were both already being tipped for big things before they came to us where there was no real fuss being made over Weiss, Rodrigo and Kakuta and Miyachi is more similar to the latter list of names.

That's not to suggest he's incapable of adding something to the team, but you can't help thinking he'll be another benchwarmer, and through very little fault of his own.

Miyiachi definitely has more about him than Kakuta and Weiss and was successful in Holland.

His pace is incredible.

doesn't mean he'll be any good for us but he's definitely got talent.
