So several months have passed and it seems like this is dead in the water....or is it? Trent still plays for the Mariners so he hasn't been signed by Southampton, Roda, Basel or anyone else. The alleged fee was well within our means and this lad is being tipped as a future international.
The more I read about him, the more I think he could be a great signing.
The media describe his performances as "mature", "calm" and "assured" - comforting words given our defensive situation. Only 21, Trent was voted into the A league "team of the season".
Dawson is obviously class, but I suspect unattainable, so wouldn't this lad be a sensible buy now?
I just have a feeling we might be missing a trick if we let this lad slip through our hands. It's not too late is it?

Who knows what goes on behind close doors, we may still have him on our radar incase Dawson doesn't come back.

However I imagine we are only going to be going for loan players as the vast amount of the transfer kitty went on Spearing.

Whoever it was is probably in a padded sell by now....hopefully.
