When he first broke into our side, he looked really fired up, scored good goals against Premier League opposition and genuinly looked liked he had a big point to prove.

Since then though, his impact has diminished quite abit. I don't know how many times he even touched the ball against Cardiff but he didn't even seem to put himself about, which is probably one of the main things you need to do as a lone front man.

My question is should we be giving (definitely) Craig Davies a start and also giving Eaves more of a look-in over Sordell. I know that we haven't seen allot of Eaves but at this point, I think we really do need players who's heads are in their games and who knows, maybe Craig Davies will work well with Eaves bouncing the ball off each other.

What do you think?

He's no good in a 4-5-1 formation, it's clear for everyone but Dougie to see.

While Sordell has hardly set the world alight, we have won more games since he started being picked regularly.

It does worry me that Dougie will persist with the 4-5-1 formation at home, despite us winning those 8 games with two forwards.

He only plays that formation because we would been ran rampant in midfield, so he makes sure we aren't by sticking in an extra centre mid

I'd like to see more effort from Sordell. He's probably the most likely to score out of all our strikers but doesn't get involved enough when he plays.

Sordell and Craig Davies up front next week imo.

He seemed to be having a bit of a sulk yesterday, no i don't think he was given enough support, or the kind of service you'd like as a striker but he doesn't do the running of a Craig Davies for me.

That said, at home in a 4-4-2 i still think he's got a lot to offer.

The lad had no service yesterday and neither did cavies when he came on. We were better than I thought yesterday overall but because of the lone striker we resorted to hoofball again. Some of the passes out of the back were 30 yards away from Sordell or straight over his head and out for a goal kick.
Their goal .....we did a bad pass in midfield straight to one of their guys and a few passes later it was in our net.

It seemed like he was heading off before his number had come up.

I like to see attitude by players taken off - no player should be happy to be subbed.

With a bit of luck we might offload him during the summer as he's too far up his own backside for a team like ours. Too full of self importance.
Watford look like they'e on their way to the prem- they might take him off our hands.

I couldn't care less how up his own backside he is - which seems to be one of the main arguments against him. He can be as much of a twat as he wants I dont want to be his mate, I want him to be playing and scoring.

We aren't blessed with good strikers so keep him and develop him.

I would like to see him doing both as well. He's got the shirt on- but he doesn't play much and rarely scores.Unless he starts doing both next season- wherever we are- then I'd get shut of him

That's what he always does. Every single time he gets brought off. Which is more or less every time he plays tbh.

There are similarities between Sordell and Danny Welbeck.
Like Welbeck, Sordell is easily knocked off the ball and his touch is often too heavy. Despite this, Welbeck blossomed into a useful player at the very top level, because he was given time and stability in the first team.

He definitely has something.

He is just plain lazy, he wants to go and most fans would be happy to see the back of him. A simply solution Marvin... piss off.

I'll let him off if he scores the winner on Saturday.

From what I've seen of him he's not as lazy as Klasnic, I think most fans who want to see the back of him feel like that because they think he's a nob.

He could well be, but for football reasons I'd like to see him stay and develop. We rarely have good, young players so let's see how Dougie develops his obvious potential.

Some strikers just want to be in or around the 6 yard box the whole game so they can score - they are often branded lazy. Gary Lineker would be branded lazy if he were still playing today. Klasnic was that type of striker.

But Marvin just looks lazy to me.
