We can bring this thread back at the end of the season and see where our misguided attempts to judge the run in went wrong.

So last 8 games for us...

3 wins and two draws would see us finish on 38 points. But that mean losing only three games from our last 8. Which, including our recent run would mean an unlikely 11 matches with just 3 defeats. It's a big ask. But that's what I'm going for!

10 points for me. Should be enough, but having won three on the trot I can't believe we're only one point ahead of Wigan. So maybe it won't be enough!

7 points not enough. I don't know why everyone expects us to beat Swansea. Villa and Fulham are the draws I think we have the best chance of turning into wins.

Nothing would please me more than to be proved wrong but we were lucky today and we have been lucky with a couple of decisions recently. That is not going to keep happening.

There's always at least one team that gets the wind in their sails at the end of the season. The problem for us is that there seems to be about 3 at the moment, and to be honest, I don't think we have anything else to offer, whereas the others will take encouragement from their wins, and start picking up the points. I think we will get another 8 points, which will make it almost impossible to stay up. Having said that, I never say 'never'.

Pretty much the same forecast as Trotter1948 except I have gone for draws against Swansea and Spurs.

I'm all for being optimistic, BUT in the previous 22 games of the season against teams currently above us we have managed 3 wins (Everton,Liverpool and Stoke) and 1 draw (Arsenal). 19 of our points have come from beating the sides currently below us, can you honestly see us getting 14 points?
