To be Renamed the 'Macron Stadium'

A club statement states...

"we have been forced to try and find a less prestigious sponsor as we are so embarrassingly crap right now, Reebok and Adidas no longer wish to associate themselves with us"

Another bloody nail in the Wanderers coffin. It will always be the Reebok as far as I am concerned. Surely a multi-national company like Reebok would have wished their name to remain associated with the stadium?

Macron are going to be our kit provider as well so the Reebok brand will have nothing more to do with the club anymore.

BWFC strike stadium and kit deal with Macron

Bolton Wanderers are delighted to announce prestigious and highly-regarded sportswear manufacturers Macron as the club’s new official stadium naming rights partner and kit providers.

This significant agreement will see the club's stadium rebranded as Macron Stadium from July 2014.

Macron will also produce the club's own bespoke official match kit, as well as training and leisurewear.

Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside said: "This is an extremely exciting and beneficial deal for our club. We will be proud to carry the Macron brand on our stadium and official merchandise for the coming seasons.  We have been very impressed with their passion for football and their ideas to grow our partnership.

"Macron will bring a new range of kit and training wear for our players and supporters that will launch later in the summer.  They are an ambitious and innovative company and we are looking forward to becoming one of their flagship clubs.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to place on record our thanks to Reebok and the rest of the Adidas Group for their continued support over the years."

The deal will run for an initial four years, with the club having the option to extend thereafter.

Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello said: "We are very proud to start this relationship with such a prestigious club as Bolton Wanderers. Macron wishes to be associated with top clubs where the company's principles of high quality customised products can be further demonstrated.

"We feel with this bold move of becoming a stadium naming rights partner we have been able to consolidate Macron’s brand as a major player in the European sponsorship market.

"We are proud to welcome Bolton Wanderers to the Macron family and are now working closely together in order to create a unique collection for next season that we believe will be appreciated by the Bolton fans."

Front Row Marketing Services, part of Comcast-Spectacor, acted for Bolton Wanderers and Red Strike Marketing acted for Macron.

Macron will also be sponsoring Palace as of next season and already sponsor a host of clubs (around 100 worldwide) and the Football League itself. They work with Reebok/Adidas group anyway and used to be one of their main manufacturers until they launched their own brand.

Italian defence and now an Italian sponsor.
