Liam Feeney is understood to be close to completing a move to Wanderers.

Club sources say the winger, who played four times for the Whites on loan from Millwall last season, has agreed terms to sign on a permanent deal.

Dougie Freedman had wanted to sign the 27-year-old in January but put the move on hold because he felt the buy-out clause in his contract was too high.

Now the Wanderers boss will get his man for nothing, with the deal expected to be officially ratified by the club before his contract runs out with Millwall at the end of June.

That means Freedman has already secured four new players for next season – following the arrival of Neil Danns from Leicester, Liam Trotter from Millwall and Dorian Dervite from Charlton.

Good news!

Although I can't help thinking this whole situation is like when AC Milan signed Luther Blissett by mistake instead of John Barnes.

By that I mean, we went after one Liam, realised our mistake then eventually bagged the right one.
