I've just spent the last hour and a half de-stoning 6.7 Kg of plums (just over a Stone in old money) and I never want to see another fucking plum ever again.

Which is a shame because we've got 6.7 Kg of them to eat.....

Cheers Boncey.

Actually they're all ear-marked for Plum Pickle.

Lovely with cheese & crackers.

It's Mrs B's secret recipe and even I don't know what goes in it.

Apart from plums, obviously......

Good man.

You can't beat a pie.

Unless you have two pies.

Aldi Lamb shanks in a mint "joue" with, it turns out, is French for gravy.

Excellent value, loads of meat on the bone and absolutely delicious.

Three quid for a box of two.

Fuck you Tesco and your profit warning, the "value retailers" are coming for you.....!

(I've got a thing about Tesco because they've made my life difficult over the years, with me working in the food industry and that, and it's nice to see their crown finally slipping.)

Never really been to Aldi, I read an article in the Daily Mail that said Lidl (haven't really shopped here either!) was better?

Have you tried Lidl?

Hope the Lamb shank wasn't in a box on the shelf with 50,000 additives in that has a year long shelf life!

I'm not being funny, but shouldn't that be "jus"? Very Happy

Peasants say "jus", us posh people pronounce it "joue".......

(You bastard! Very Happy )

Not been in a Lidl for a long time, so I've no idea what their quality's like.

I'm basing my preference for Aldi on having worked for several suppliers of their's over the years and seeing how they've raised their standards massively.

If you've got a few spare quid, buy shares in Aldi - they will become a serious player in the UK market over the next few years because they are taking it seriously and are getting it right.

Good quality at an affordable price.

Lidl is very similar to Aldi. There is a very good sized Lidl in Morecambe where you can pretty much get a full family shop. My only gripe is with the fruit and veg. I have tried Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl but their fruit and veg doesn't seem to keep fresh as long as Asda. I don't know why this is.

I haven't shopped in Tesco for years. My main shop is Asda. Tonight it was Asda's Butchers choice sirloin steak £1.85 each. I rarely eat meat nowadays but I couldn't resist it. Bloody delicious with salad and French dressing.

I have not shopped at Tesco since my son got nicked at Boots for taking a roll of film and not paying.

Would you mind explaining the correlation between Boots and Tesco?
