Medo Kamara’s international exploits are likely to cost him a starting place against Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

The midfielder played for Sierra Leone in their 2-0 defeat to DR Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday but could only rejoin his club team-mates late on Friday.

Medo started the last game against Leeds United and Dougie Freedman hinted he could be forced into a change for the visit of the Owls.

“Medo has been out there playing for his country and won’t be back in time to train, so we’ll have to make a decision on that,” he said.

Medo played twice in the international break, flying directly into the Ivory Coast for the first qualifier because of the ebola scare in Sierra Leone.

The outbreak also forced the second game to be switched to Lubumbashi in DR Congo and with home advantage sacrificed, the Leone Lions slipped to a second defeat of the group Firmin Mubele and Jeremy Bokila scored the goals.

it might be a blessing in disguise, we don't need to play Spearing and Medo especially at home.
