Wanderers under-18s fought back from two goals down at Leeds United but narrowly lost 3-2 in their latest U18 Professional Development League Two outing on Saturday.

The young Whites began the match well but fell behind when the hosts scored from a free kick.

Leeds made it 2-0 with a wonder strike and Lee's youngsters were up against it.

But a well-worked goal halved the deficit – Ronnie Pearson storming into the box to score from eight yards out.

And the visitors were level when Alex Samazideh latched on to a fine through ball from Pearson to make it two apiece.

It looked like Wanderers were heading for a deserved point but a lapse in concentration saw them caught out at the back to concede what proved to be the winner for the hosts.

Coach Lee believes it was a good experience for his youthful side and said: "We started the game very well then conceded a goal from a direct free kick and a wonder strike.

"We showed great character to get back in the game but got caught out to concede a third.

"It was a good learning curve for the players, learning how to stay in the game through difficult situations."
